Younger Children’s Activity Pages

Older Children’s Activity Pages

Good morning!  This page is intended to both serve as a continuing worship option for those participating in our worship service from home, and to serve in place of print resources during our in-person worship.  Following the worship service on Sunday, one or more video recordings from the service will be placed on this page, including the sermon.  This may take several hours, due to the time needed to process the videos.  We will email the congregation when the recordings have been posted.  If you would like to be added to our congregational email list, please contact pvcob.alive@gmail.com.

  • Indoor seating is available in the sanctuary with the live stream of the service on the screen.

  • We will be celebrating our Summer Love Feast as part of our morning worship service in the Pavilion on August 1. As we remember Jesus’ last meal with his disciples, we will have a time for sharing simple food together, an opportunity to participate in footwashing (stations will be set up for those who wish to participate) and bread and cup communion.

  • We are planning a Brethren Disaster Ministries trip to Dayton, Ohio for August 22 -28. If you are interested in participating, or would like more information, please contact Eddie Meyerhoeffer.

  • Wind and Word” Bible Study takes place at 7PM on Tuesday evenings in the Pavilion. This is a casual study of the book of Acts, and all are encouraged to come as they are available.

  • There will be a Men’s Breakfast Saturday, August 14th at 8:30 am. Come join us for coffee, danishes, and fellowship!

  • Thank you all for your submissions to our July Newsletter. The deadline for including items in the August Newsletter will be July 23.
  • Softball season is wrapping up! The end of year tournament starts this coming week. Our first game is Tuesday evening, July 20 at 6:30 PM.

  • As a reminder, please note that the Rockingham County Fair is hosting a concert with Jimmy Fortune and the Isaacs at the Pepsi Grandstand August 15. Group discounts are available for purchases of 10 or more tickets. Please call the fair office for more information or obtain your individual tickets online at www.rockinghamcountyfair.com
  • Brethren Woods, our camp ministry in the Shenandoah District of the Church of the Brethren, is seeking contributions.Last summer, we raised funds to hire ten summer staff and offset program costs.  This year, we are combining the Staff Adoption program and the Helping Hands Scholarship program once again.  Summer camp will be smaller, rental groups are few and far between and Outdoor School groups are not coming again this Spring. So, we will once again need the support of our camp friends to make our summer program viable.  Thanks for all of your support for these programs.  Pray with us that God will use your gifts to touch lives as only God can.”

Jesus said, “I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love.”

Jesus teaches for this purpose, That we will remain intimately at home in his love.

Jesus said “That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.”

Jesus wants his joy to be our joy, and for joy to be made complete.

So hear his teaching: Love one another the way I loved you.

He loves us!

Jesus has come to us for this, to be the Father’s love, to share the Father’s love, to give us life in the Father’s love.

Let’s live and celebrate in God’s love.

My Story

Verse 1
If I told you my story
You would hear hope that wouldn’t let go
And if I told you my story
You would hear love that never gave up
And if I told you my story
You would hear life but it wasn’t mine

If I should speak
Then let it be of

Chorus
OF the grace that is greater
Than all my sin
Of when justice was served
And when mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

Verse 2
If I told you my story
You would hear victr’y over the enemy
And if I told you my story
You would hear freedom that was won for me
And if I told you my story
You would hear life overcome the grave

If I should speak
Then let it be of

Chorus
OF the grace that is greater
Than all my sin
Of when justice was served
And when mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

Bridge
This is my story this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long.

This is my story this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Chorus
OF the grace that is greater
Than all my sin
Of when justice was served
And when mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

Lord of Love,
You are our father and friend. You have chosen us and called us. We are adopted into your salvation. You invites us to live out that salvation sharing your grace in the world around us. We are born anew in your calling and find our life in you everyday. Gather us in your Spirit this morning, that we might be renewed in your joy, opened to your wisdom, and overflowing with the fruit of your love.
In Jesus we gather, Amen.

John 15:9-11 NRSV

As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.

I Love to Tell the Story

Verse 1

I love to tell the story of unseen things above,
of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love,
I love to tell the story because I know it is true.
It satisfies my longings as nothing else could do.

Verse 1
The sun comes up it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

Chorus

I love to tell the story, it will be my theme in glory,
to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.

Verse 2

I love to tell the story, for those who know it best
seem hungering and thirsting to hear it, like the rest.
And when in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song,
It will be the old, old story that I have loved so long.

Chorus

I love to tell the story, it will be my theme in glory,
to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;

God’s steadfast love endures for ever!

The Lord is our strength and our might;
our light and our salvation.

God’s steadfast love endures for ever!

God answers our prayers
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone.

God’s steadfast love endures for ever!

Live in love, beloved Children.
Christ loves you and gave himself up for you,
an offering and sacrifice to God.

God’s steadfast love endures for ever!

This is the Lord’s doing;
it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

God’s steadfast love endures for ever!

Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
We lift our palms in praise
O give thanks to the Lord!

God’s steadfast love endures for ever!

God invests in all of us through love. Christ pours out life for our sake, and holds us close that we may remain in him and thrive, bearing fruit that brings life to all of creation. Let us give thanks to God for love that endures and faithfulness that is for all time. Let us honor God’s blessing through the ways we witness, love, and share today.

God of all Creation,
Your giving knows no ending.
In each and every day we are given opportunities
to see your love given new life.
You bring Heaven into earth.
You teach birds to sing.
You raise acorns into oaks.
You inspire streams to gurgle and dance.
You are the hanger of rainbows and filler of clouds.
So we celebrate you today, in all of your glory!
We thank you for Jesus, who came to teach,
and to be, your love.
We thank you for your Spirit
who gives us gifts to serve our neighbors
and honor you.
We ask that we would know and be your blessing
as each morning’s sun rises
and each evening’s sun sets.
This world needs your love.
Use us to share it.
Help us to bear your compassion to those who are angry and hurting.
Give us courage to withstand irrational flames
that we may quench them with your mercy.
Help us to turn the other cheek
that we may soon embrace our enemies as friends.
Open our eyes to those who are struggling around us.
Help us to know your grace in the midst of our own struggles.
Guard the hearts and bodies of those who serve in your love.
Rescue those in despair and trouble.

Bring healing to places around the world stricken by Covid-19.
Bring newness of life and wholeness of body to those close to us wrestling with cancer,
Help us all to find our way together through this world’s challenges.
May the day come soon, when we will all sit together at your table,
sharing your bounty,
in love and in peace.
Amen.

Graves Into Gardens

Verse 1

I searched the world but it couldn’t fill me
Man’s empty praise and treasures that fade
Are never enough
Then You came along and put me back together
And every desire is now satisfied here in Your love

Chorus
Oh there’s nothing better than You
There’s nothing better than You
Lord there’s nothing
Nothing is better than You

Verse 2
I’m not afraid to show You my weakness
My failures and flaws
Lord You’ve seen them all
And You still call me friend
‘Cause the God of the mountain
Is the God of the valley
And there’s not a place
Your mercy and grace won’t find me again

Bridge
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory
You’re the only one who can

You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory
You’re the only one who can

You turn graves into gardens
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways
You’re the only one who can

Chorus
Oh there’s nothing better than You
There’s nothing better than You
Lord there’s nothing
Nothing is better than You

Build Your Kingdom Here

Verse 1
Come set Your rule and reign
In our hearts again
Increase in us we pray
Unveil why we’re made
Come set our hearts ablaze with hope
Like wildfire in our very souls
Holy Spirit come invade us now
We are Your church
We need Your pow’r in us

Verse 2
We seek Your kingdom first
We hunger and we thirst
Refuse to waste our lives
For You’re our joy and prize
To see the captives’ hearts released
The hurt the sick the poor at peace
We lay down our lives for heaven’s cause
We are Your church
We pray revive this earth

Chorus
Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land
Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here we pray

Verse 3
Unleash Your kingdom’s pow’r
Reaching the near and far
No force of hell can stop
Your beauty changing hearts
You made us for much more than this
Awake the kingdom seed in us
Fill us with the strength and love of Christ
We are Your church
We are the hope on earth

Chorus
Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land
Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here we pray

The earth is the Lord’s!
And all who live in it!
So may we go led by the Holy Spirit,
who blew over the waters and stirs human hearts,
to carry Christ-love to all creation. Amen!
