Brethren Disaster Ministries is an outreach of the Church of the Brethren to those who have suffered from natural and man-made disasters. Recent projects have included a six-year response repairing and rebuilding homes after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, rebuilding homes in Toms River, NJ after Superstorm Sandy in Oct. 2012, ongoing ministries in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake and Hurricane Matthew in 2016, and a major relief effort supporting and in cooperation with the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria, EYN) which has been deeply impacted by the attacks of Boko Haram.

Support to Brethren Disaster Ministries can be given through financial donations, by volunteering with its various projects, including Children’s Disaster Ministries, and through fundraisers like the Shenandoah District Disaster Ministries Auction.
