Good morning! This page is intended to both serve as a continuing worship option for those participating in our worship service from home, and to serve in place of print resources during our in-person worship. Following the worship service on Sunday, one or more video recordings from the service will be placed on this page, including the sermon. This may take several hours, due to the time needed to process the videos. We will email the congregation when the recordings have been posted. If you would like to be added to our congregational email list, please contact pvcob.alive@gmail.com.
- Life Groups are starting again this month. Please sign up on the sheets provided or talk to me, Sara Houff, Karissa Scrogham or Pastor Rebecca for more info.
- We are now back to collecting our offerings during the Sharing Our Gifts portion of worship. The Ushers will be serving us, and you can also see that the coin jug back up front for the children to come forward and drop their coins in at the same time.
- Backpack Pals are in need of pudding cups, ramen noodles, and we ask that you continue to donate your plastic grocery bags. Thank you!
Prayer
Yahweh, Yeshua, Abba, Father, it is our privilege and joy to praise you. As we gather together and sing, let us make a joyful noise to you. As we pray, may our words and thoughts be a pleasing aroma to you. As we open your word may we trust in your unfailing promises. Your word holds true, it is living and active, sharper than a two-edged sword. Open the eyes of our hearts that we may see you more clearly today. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Invocation
God our Creator, Savior, and Guide,
we come together to learn about your life giving ways.
Help us to hear, and see, and experience your love that binds all your followers together, so it might overflow from our lives to all people.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Call to Worship
Psalm 136: 1-3
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
For his steadfast love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods
For his steadfast love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
For his steadfast love endures forever.
Mark 4:35-41
That day when evening came, Jesus said to
his disciples, “Let us go over to the other
side.” Leaving the crowds behind, they took
him along, just as he was, in the boat. There
were also other boats with him. A furious
storm came up, and the waves broke over
the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.
Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion.
The disciples woke him and cried out,
“Teacher, don’t you care if we drown!”
Sharing Our Gifts
We come with our offerings in response to God’s love. With new life in Christ, we give ourselves in service to others. With energy given by the Spirit, we seek to inflame all God’s people with a passion for the way of Christ. We offer the work we do, the time we share, and the gifts we bring, that they may become a blessing to all the world. Will the Ushers please come forward to collect our gifts?
