Good morning!  This page is intended to both serve as a continuing worship option for those participating in our worship service from home, and to serve in place of print resources during our in-person worship.  Following the worship service on Sunday, one or more video recordings from the service will be placed on this page, including the sermon.  This may take several hours, due to the time needed to process the videos.  We will email the congregation when the recordings have been posted.  If you would like to be added to our congregational email list, please contact pvcob.alive@gmail.com.

  • Softball is starting May 9! Don’t miss your chance to sign up and practice Sunday May 8 at 6pm. Please contact Kyle Myers with any questions.

This mission intends to serve their mental health, help them feel adjusted to the area, and help them get to know us better! If you’re interested, please write a short paragraph describing your place of peace and why it’s important to you (photos are also optional but encouraged!) Please email Isabelle Garber garberisabelle@gmail.comwith submissions ASAP!

Call to Worship

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, come now to worship! Great is our God!

God makes the sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and unrighteous.

Nothing in all of creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord

The steadfast love of God endures forever. It bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

So we gather in the love of God this morning, praying for grace beyond forgiveness, giving thanks for God’s salvation, lifting our voices in praise!

Gathering Prayer

Lord of creation, healing, and redemption,
You are our hope and our glory.
You knew us in our mother’s wombs
In your book are written every day of our lives.
You are with us on the mountaintop,
shining brighter than the sun,
and you are with us in the darkest depths
leading us through to a new day.
Shine your light among us today.
Open your word to us.
Wash us and renew us.
Revive us as your body,
Knit together in Christ
To know and share your salvation.
In Jesus love we pray, Amen.

Isaiah 43:8-14 NRSV

Bring forth the people who are blind, yet have eyes, who are deaf, yet have ears! Let all the nations gather together, and let the peoples assemble. Who among them declared this, and foretold to us the former things? Let them bring their witnesses to justify them, and let them hear and say, ‘It is true.’ You are my witnesses, says the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no saviour. I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses, says the Lord. I am God, and also henceforth I am He; there is no one who can deliver from my hand; I work and who can hinder it?

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I will send to Babylon and break down all the bars, and the shouting of the Chaldeans will be turned to lamentation.

Declaration of Faith

Hear now the word of our Lord,

The one who created and formed us,
The one who shapes and loves us,

The God of our ancestors and all generations,

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.”

When you pass through the waters, God will be with us;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm us.
When we walk through fire, we will not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume us.

For you are the Lord our God,
the Holy One of Israel, our Savior.

God tells us,
“I have chosen to make you my children.
I have given up pride and power for your sake.
Because you are precious in my sight,
I honor you and I love you.
Do not fear, for I am with you.”

God will gather us from the ends of the earth—
every one called by name,
every one created for glory,
every one God has formed and made.

In Prayer Together

Almighty Lord of heaven and earth,
Our spirits bear the imprints of your hands.
We are born of your love, grace, and imagination.
You are our first mother, and you blessed us through our mothers on earth.
In them you gave us our first nourishment and breath.
And you have not stopped there.
You were not content to simply create us and release us.
Instead you have loved us with an undying love.
You have sought your good for us,
And when we have strayed, you have pursued us
to bring us back to the path of life again and again.
We thank you today for all who have born your love for us.
We thank you for every one who has carried us in their hearts.
We thank you for lullabies and meals and band-aids.
We thank you for encouragement and challenge and correction.
We thank you for all those who have shaped us and reminded us
that even though mothers may pass from this world,
even though relationships may break down,
even though even recognition may fade;
we thank you that, in your love,
you are preparing a new day when sorrows will be turned to joy and laughter.

We thank you that in that new day, healing will take place in ways far beyond our comprehension,
and we will celebrate you forever.
As we await that day, Lord,
bring your healing among us now also.
Lead us to each other in your nurturing grace.
Give us the strength and courage to seek and share forgiveness.
Remind us how to share meals together and make certain all are fed.
Create in us a new family, all of your adoption,
all together in your love, with Jesus as our head. Amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
