Good morning! This page is intended to both serve as a continuing worship option for those participating in our worship service from home, and to serve in place of print resources during our in-person worship. Following the worship service on Sunday, one or more video recordings from the service will be placed on this page, including the sermon. This may take several hours, due to the time needed to process the videos. We will email the congregation when the recordings have been posted. If you would like to be added to our congregational email list, please contact pvcob.alive@gmail.com.

Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves is a child of
God and knows God.
God’s love was shown to us in this way: God sent Jesus, his only Son, into our world,
so that we might live through him.
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us. God’s love is made perfect
in us through love.
We love because God first loved us. If we love God, we must also love our brothers
and sisters.
Claiming and clinging to this kind of love, let us worship the Lord our God.

Gracious God,
we praise you for the light of new life
made possible through Jesus.
We praise you for the light of new life
that shone on the first witnesses of resurrection.
We praise you for the light of new life
that continues to shine in our hearts today.
We pray that the light of life, hope and joy,
will live in us each day;
and that we will be bearers of that light
into the lives of others.
Send your Spirit to enliven our worship.
To lead us in ways that shine your light
on earth as it is in heaven
Amen.

Matthew 28:19-20 NRSV
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’
Hebrews 4:12 NRSV
Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
One:
Brothers and sisters, God calls us to his own heart.
Two:
Let us trust God with our every sorrow
Let us reveal to Christ our every fear
Let us open to the Spirit our every insecurity,
One:
Knowing that in the Spirit we will find our comfort and our strength
Two:
We are wrapped in the arms of God’s love
We are lifted on the wings of divine inspiration
We are blessed by the one who creates us and nurtures us,
Somebody Must’ve Prayed for Me
Verse 1
Pastor Duncan once told me the Good Lord’s gonna’ test your faith,
So don’t sleep on the good days.
When I was only 18, I thought the tide was gonna’ carry me away.
Well somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Verse 2
21, I was lonely. I thought that I’d never find my place,
well times were hard back in ’16.
Now I’m thinking on the good days.
Sweet return for a debt I didn’t pay.
Well somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Chorus
Somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Somebody prayed, and if I had to guess, I’d say
Every day. Every day,
Somebody prayed!
Verse 3
Hard times to remind me no trouble ever lasts always.
Free yourself from the enemy!
My father once told me, “Good love should never lead you astray.”
Well somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Chorus
Somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Somebody prayed, and if I had to guess, I’d say
Every day. Every day,
Somebody prayed!
Bridge
It might’ve been my Mother
It might’ve been my Father
It might’ve been my friends.
And if I did it all again, I would pray.
I would pray; everyday.
Chorus
Somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Somebody must’ve prayed for me.
Somebody prayed, and if I had to guess, I’d say
Every day. Every day,
Somebody prayed!

Gracious Lord,
We come to you in prayer this morning,
to place our trust in you,
to answer your call in our hearts,
to commit the living of every day to your grace.
We know the glory of being called your children,
being invited into your redemption,
your new kingdom of healing and love.
We know our unworthiness to receive such gifts,
and we know that none of our sin is hidden from you.
We covet and lie,
we begrudge and slander,
we even allow our government to steal and murder on our behalf.
We turn deaf ears to the victims of injustice
and close our eyes to that which we would not see
but cannot be bothered to change.
Our sin is ever before us,
but we pretend we see it not.
And yet you still come to us, O God.
You come and call us your own,
pouring out blessings beyond our deserving,
washing us with grace beyond our comprehension.
You embrace us and show us a new way,
offer us a new life,
and trust us with the treasures of heaven.
You fill us with your Spirit and call us your own.
And so we come to you, healer and redeemer,
to pray as your children,
as those who have come not only to trust in your blessing,
but also who know we depend upon it.
We pray for the transformation of human hearts around the world,
that the seeds of grace would find productive soil,
that those who seek war would learn the glories of peace,
that those who seek power would find the beauty of humility,
that those who lead would desire service before domination,
and that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness would drink at your well.
Grant your healing mercy to this who are hurting today.
Send your angels to those who are in mourning.
Build your church up, to encourage each other,
so that we will be strengthened for your glory. Amen.
Chain Breaker
Verse 1
If you’ve been walking the same old road
For miles and miles
If you’ve been hearing the same old voice
Tell the same old lies
If you’re trying to fill the same old holes inside
There’s a better life
There’s a better life
Chorus
If you’ve got pain He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving
He’s a prison shaking Savior
If you got chains He’s a chain breaker
Verse 2
We’ve all searched for the light of day
In the dead of night
We’ve all found ourselves worn out
From the same old fight
We’ve all run to things we know just ain’t right
When there’s a better life
There’s a better life
Chorus
If you’ve got pain He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving
He’s a prison shaking Savior
If you got chains He’s a chain breaker
Bridge
If you believe it
If you receive it
If you can feel it
Somebody testify
Chorus
If you’ve got pain He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving
He’s a prison shaking Savior
If you got chains He’s a chain breaker
Oh if you need freedom or saving
He’s a prison shaking Savior
If you got chains well He’s a chain breaker

Chain Breaker
Now, may you know God’s light shining in the darkness
To lead us towards hope
To send us towards those in need
To show us Christ’s strength for a world in need.
Go and bear the good news for all to hear. Amen.
