Good morning! This page is intended to both serve as a continuing worship option for those participating in our worship service from home, and to serve in place of print resources during our in-person worship. Following the worship service on Sunday, one or more video recordings from the service will be placed on this page, including the sermon. This may take several hours, due to the time needed to process the videos. We will email the congregation when the recordings have been posted. If you would like to be added to our congregational email list, please contact pvcob.alive@gmail.com.

- Brethren Woods, our camp ministry in the Shenandoah District of the Church of the Brethren, is seeking contributions.“Last summer, we raised funds to hire ten summer staff and offset program costs. This year, we are combining the Staff Adoption program and the Helping Hands Scholarship program once again. Summer camp will be smaller, rental groups are few and far between and Outdoor School groups are not coming again this Spring. So, we will once again need the support of our camp friends to make our summer program viable. Thanks for all of your support for these programs. Pray with us that God will use your gifts to touch lives as only God can.”Donation information can be found at www.brethrenwoods.org/donate/.
O Lord, our God,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you have established;
what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them?
Yet, out of clay you have crafted vessels for your spirit.
You have shaped us and gathered us
Breathed your life into us and called us your own.
Your beloved, you gave your life for us
to make us whole.
We gather this morning, O God,
to celebrate your crafting
and the love that reaches out to us
in every day. Amen.
My Hope is Built on Nothing Less
Verse 1
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
Chorus
On Christ, the solid rock, I stand
All other ground is siinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
Verse 2
When darkness veils His lving face,
I rest upon unchanging grace;
In every rough and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
Chorus
On Christ, the solid rock, I stand
All other ground is siinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

1 John 3:16-19
We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another. How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. And by this we will know that we are from the truth and will reassure our hearts before him
God of all creation,
Your grace is the beauty of our days;
opening our minds to the wonder of the world around us,
opening our hearts to each other in your love.
Use the time we share this morning
to free the captive spirit and feed those who hunger for your justice and peace.
May your love be alive in us.
In Christ we pray, Amen.
Holy Spirit, Come With Power
Verse 1
breathe into our aching night.
We expect you this glad hour,
waiting for your strength and light.
We are fearful, we are ailing,
we are weak and selfish too.
Break upon your congregation,
give us vigor, life anew.
Verse 2
burn us with your presence new.
Let us as one mighty choir
sing our hymn of praise to you.
Burn away our wasted sadness
and enflame us with your love.
Burst upon your congregation,
give us gladness from above..
Verse 3
burn and breathe each word anew
deep into our tired living
till we strive your work to do.
Teach us love and trusting kindness,
lend our hands to those who hurt.
Breathe upon your congregation
and inspire us with your word.

Holy Spirit, Come with Power
Galatians 5:13-14 NRSV
For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’
Shepherd Me O God
Refrain
beyond my fears, from death into life.
Verse 1
God is my shepherd, so nothing shall I want,
I rest in the meadows of faithfulness and love,
I walk by the quiet waters of peace.
Refrain
beyond my fears, from death into life.
Verse 2
you lead me by pathways of righteousness and truth,
my spirit shall sing the music of your name.
Refrain
beyond my fears, from death into life.
Verse 5
follow me all the days of my life;
I will dwell in the house of my God forevermore..
Refrain
beyond my fears, from death into life.

Shepherd Me, O God
God’s abundance is without measure and cannot be defined or contained. As we take each day at a time, facing new and different challenges, we also have the opportunity to rely on the guidance of God, the leading of the Holy Spirit. The creativity and newness of the Spirit abound and overflow into our world and our lives!
We have seen and experienced so much change and uncertainty, yet so much good has been sparked in this time of need. Thank you for stepping forward and helping those in need, and for finding creative solutions to problems that seem hard to overcome. May we all continue to contribute to the peace and wholeness of creation, and the spreading of God’s love among us, the community, and the world.
Holy God,
We seek you and need you.
We need you in our weakness;
and we need you in our hope.
We know that you formed us with a vision of goodness and peace,
and that you came in Jesus to pursue us in love:
to run up to your prodigal children,
and to reclaim us as your own,
to put the signet ring on our finger once more.
We are swift to wander off to foreign lands,
full of ambition to accomplish things better on our own,
blind until we are reduced to scavenging the dregs,
realizing that the world that we have shaped does little to nourish our souls.
Help us to return to your table, O God.
Remind us of the sacrifice with which you set it.
Awaken our senses to savor its sweetness,
and recognize the way it satisfies our thirsts.
Let us hunger and thirst only for the completeness of your justice and righteousness.
Equip us to work in fields of your sowing,
overcoming evil with good,
responding to injury with compassion,
bearing your reconciliation,
knowing that it has cost,
and is a treasure without measure.
Teach us to live out the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray:Holy God,
We seek you and need you.
We need you in our weakness;
and we need you in our hope.
We know that you formed us with a vision of goodness and peace,
and that you came in Jesus to pursue us in love:
to run up to your prodigal children,

overcoming evil with good,
responding to injury with compassion,
bearing your reconciliation,
knowing that it has cost,
and is a treasure without measure.
Teach us to live out the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray:
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Gentle Shepherd
Gentle Shepherd come and lead us
For we need you to help us find our way
Gentle Shepherd come and feed us
For we need your strength from day to day
There’s no other we can turn to
Who can help us face another day
Gentle Shepherd come and lead us
For we need you to help us find our way

Gentle Shepherd, Come and Lead Us
Now, may God guard you against false justice and cheap righteousness
May the Lord energize you not to fall in the sleep of apathy and carelessness.
May the Spirit lead you by the narrow path of Jesus’ way
Which shares redemptive grace for all people
May God guide us home, wherever we go, Amen.
