Good morning!  This page is intended to both serve as a continuing worship option for those participating in our worship service from home, and to serve in place of print resources during our in-person worship.  Following the worship service on Sunday, one or more video recordings from the service will be placed on this page, including the sermon.  This may take several hours, due to the time needed to process the videos.  We will email the congregation when the recordings have been posted.  If you would like to be added to our congregational email list, please contact pvcob.alive@gmail.com.

    • We will have a time to share prayer concerns and praises later in the service, but are there any other announcements or reminders you want to share at this time?
    • Backpack Pals are in  need of pudding cups, ramen noodles, and we ask that you continue to donate your plastic grocery bags. Thank you!

    Prayer

Most gracious heavenly Father, today we celebrate your majesty and power and the beauty of your creation. We come before you with open minds and open hearts. May your Spirit move in our midst today, and may we be ever so diligent in tuning in and finding your message for each of us this morning. We are your people, God. Let our worship today bring you glory. Amen.

    Invocation

God our Creator, Savior, and Guide,
we come together to learn about your life giving ways.
Help us to hear, and see, and experience your love that binds all your followers together, so it might overflow from our lives to all people.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

    Call to Worship

People of God, the Lord is merciful!

God forgives our sin and pardons all our debts.

People of God, the Lord is good!

God restores us to the way of salvation.

People of God, the Lord is love!

God revives our spirit so that we may rejoice.

People of God, the Lord is faithful!

God speaks so that we may follow.

People of God, the Lord is righteous!

God’s glory fills this place. Let us worship and praise the Lord our God!

    Jeremiah 29:4-14 NRSV

Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let the prophets and the diviners who are among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that they dream, for it is a lie that they are prophesying to you in my name; I did not send them, says the Lord.

For thus says the Lord: Only when Babylon’s seventy years are completed will I visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.

    Philippians 1:9-11 NRSV

And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that on the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.

The sermon, “ “One Foot…”,” will be posted soon.

    Sharing Our Gifts

We come with our offerings in response to God’s love. With new life in Christ, we give ourselves in service to others. With energy given by the Spirit, we seek to inflame all God’s people with a passion for the way of Christ. We offer the work we do, the time we share, and the gifts we bring, that they may become a blessing to all the world. Will the Ushers please come forward to collect our gifts?

Now may the power that is in Christ Jesus to reconcile and to forgive,

The strength of the Holy spirit to baptize and to save,

And the fierce love of God, the Creator, to overcome all bitterness and strife,

Keep each of us in His perfect grace and truth. Amen.
