Good morning!  This page is intended to both serve as a continuing worship option for those participating in our worship service from home, and to serve in place of print resources during our in-person worship.  Following the worship service on Sunday, one or more video recordings from the service will be placed on this page, including the sermon.  This may take several hours, due to the time needed to process the videos.  We will email the congregation when the recordings have been posted.  If you would like to be added to our congregational email list, please contact pvcob.alive@gmail.com.

  • Please note these highlights from the July Church Board Meeting:
    1. We will continue worshiping outdoors through Worship in the Grove, on September 13.
    2. We will not be accepting reservations for use of the church building or pavilion during this time, due to sanitation concerns.
  • The Church Board will be have a called meeting on August 30 at 6:30PM in the pavilion.  We will be working on plans for resuming worship inside the church building.
  • Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!
    • For the contributions to complete our School Kits for children in times of need.
    • For your prayers for our Disaster Ministries Trip to Dayton, OH.  We had a very productive and spiritually enriching week.
    • For those who came out to spread mulch this weekend.  Thank you for all your hard work!
  • Cave View Farm has Sunflowers available for picking on Westview School Rd.  Please pick some to share with someone else!

Children's Song Medley

by Jeremiah Padilla | Streamed with permission. CSPL121366

Based on Leviticus 19

One: The LORD calls to his people saying,

All: Come to me and learn kindness, learn the kind of love I have for my people.

One: Know that I provide, that my fields are never barren, that there is room for all at my table

All: Know a life not driven by fear, a life in which all are free to deal in love.

One: Learn my compassion that celebrates the worker, welcomes the beggar, that rejoices with the deaf and blind.

All: Come to me, and discover the beauty of life in my love. And you shall know my peace, and you shall receive my joy, together with all people.

God of Wonders

Lord of all creation,
Of water earth and sky,
The heavens are Your tabernacle.
Glory to the Lord on high!

Chorus
God of wonders beyond our galaxy,
You are holy, holy!
The universe declares Your majesty.
You are holy, holy,
Lord of heaven and earth,
Lord of heaven and earth.

Early in the morning,
I will celebrate the light.
When I stumble in the darkness,
I will call Your name by night.

Chorus

Hallelujah (to the Lord of heaven and earth)!
Hallelujah (to the Lord of heaven and earth)!
Hallelujah (to the Lord of heaven and earth)!

Chorus 2
God of wonders beyond our galaxy
You are holy holy
Precious Lord reveal Your heart to me
Father hold me hold me
The universe declares Your majesty
You are holy holy

Chorus
God of wonders beyond our galaxy,
You are holy, holy!
The universe declares Your majesty.
You are holy, holy,
Lord of heaven and earth,
Lord of heaven and earth.

God of Wonders

Almighty God,
you make the sun rise on the evil and on the good,
and send rain on the righteous and unrighteous alike.
Give us grace to follow your example
and show kindness toward all people
that we may live as children of your unrelenting love.
Build us into a holy temple
where all may experience your light.
In Jesus we pray, Amen.

Romans 12:1-8

I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think, but to think with sober judgement, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.

New Earth, Heavens New

Chorus

Sing a new song
To the One who has said,
“Behold, I make all things new!”

Verse 1

New earth, heavens new,
Spirit of God moving.
New seed, creatures new,
Spirit of life moving.
New man, woman new,
Image of God moving.

Verse 2

New love, mercies new,
Spirit of God moving.
New strength, hopefulness new,
Spirit of life moving.
New hearts, spirits new,
Image of God moving.

New Earth, Heavens New

by David Tate, Jeremiah Padilla, Paul Wilson | Streamed with permission. CSPL121366

God of us all, We come before you today as the one who has shaped us and formed us; The one who has bound us together in humility and grace, The one who calls us each in love and redemption, reforming us in your new creation. We confess that we have not always been open to your renewal. We have judged our friends and our neighbors sniffed at the splinter in our neighbors’ eyes, neglected the log in our own. We have asked forgiveness of you while withholding our own. Our hearts have been hard, our faithfulness empty. Teach us anew, the meaning of your love, O God. Lead us to welcome the fruits of repentance in ourselves as well as others. Help us to join hands before the cross, knowing our brokenness is mended before your sacrifice. Make us your children once more, seeking after your heart, your grace, and your mercy. In the Prince of Peace we pray, Amen.

Isaiah 65:17-19
God calls to us:
For I am about to create new heavens
and a new earth;
the former things shall not be remembered
or come to mind.
But be glad and rejoice for ever
in what I am creating;
for I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy,
and its people as a delight.
I will rejoice in Jerusalem,
and delight in my people;

May God have cause to delight in us, as he leads us us in sharing his blessings and love. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we call upon you in Jesus’ name.
We come with empty hands.
We have not been able to love our enemies.
As a rule we have never even seen them.
We have avoided them.
When we saw them, we felt only fear and anger, not love.

So we come to you, not as the children of your love,
but as the enemy of our enemies,
beseeching you for ourselves and all the others;

Bless those who curse you,
do good to those who hate you.
Forgive us for what we have failed to do for our enemies.

You lead us out of the constriction of fear
and out of the prison of hate,
into the wide space of freedom.
Let us see your sun,
which rises upon the evil and the good,
and rejoice in its warmth, together with our enemies. Amen.

Beautiful

I see Your face in ev’ry sunrise
The colors of the morning
are inside Your eyes
The world awakens
in the light of the day
I look up to the sky and say
You’re beautiful

I see Your power in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion
and galaxies are bright
We are amazed
in the light of the stars
It’s all proclaiming who You are
You’re beautiful

I see You there hanging on a tree
You bled and then You died
And then You rose again for me
Now You are sitting
on Your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home
You’re beautiful

When we arrive at eternity’s shore
Where death is just a memory
and tears are no more
We’ll enter in
as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together
and we’ll sing
You’re beautiful

I see Your face
You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful

Beautiful

Beauty is God’s creation.
And so are you, made beautiful.
Go knowing that you are blessed
in God’s loving gift.
