During worship this Sunday, we gave everyone a bag with a crayon, a notecard, and a stone in it. We invited everyone to write or draw on the notecard to share how we are experiencing faith in our lives right now. Then we collected the cards with the offering.

At the end of worship, we brought forward the stones, to represent weights we are giving up to God this Lent. One particular stone caught my eye. One young girl in the church was not ready to stop using her crayon after we collected the notecard. So she turned to the stone instead. I love the beauty of her stone standing out among the rest. It reminds me that we don’t always have all the resources we would like, but we can still bloom with what we have!
